In the second semester, field work forms an important part of the learning on the Heritage Visualisation project. Students will be visiting a local site of significant archaeological interest, and engaging in a range of fieldwork activities for digitally documenting the site and artefacts.
Typically students work on 3D laser scanning, photography and photogrammetry, as well as "RTI" imaging. The data collected is then used by student groups in developing a visualisation (which may be interactive) to support interpretation.
