Students and staff from the MSc Serious Games & VR programme had the opportunity to learn about a quite different form of immersive game play during the Semester 1 study week - with a visit to the nearby LockedIn Glasgow Escape Rooms.
Teams of students and staff successfully escaped from the Ghosthunters, The Surgery and The Glasgow School of Magic escape rooms. With an hour on the clock, all three teams were successful in solving a range of intricate puzzles and problems.
Overall the visit allowed students to experience a different kind of 'immersive' game design - and hopefully develop their own ideas for game and puzzle design. Students noted the variety in different forms of clues and puzzles - a great outing, and a fun way to learn about game design.
