Mairi-Claire “Maj” MacDonald (they/she) is a designer and lecturer whose work explores (non)gendered material studies, play and games theory, and sensory-autoethnographic design methods. Their practice uses play, absurdity and anti-functionality to challenge design conventions. Maj has taught internationally and collaborated with partners including LEGO, Adidas, IKEA and Kinder. Their teaching emphasises collective imagining and embodied, practice-based research.
