Winter School is a two-part international and cross-cultural experience at the Innovation School’s Highlands campus in Forres, aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students from around the world.
It brings together students and professors of design, engineering, computer science and social sciences, and gives them the opportunity to work together to explore a contemporary challenge (combining ecological, technological and social dimensions) through online engagement and culminates in an intensive and site-specific project experience. This two-part workshop requires students to understand their disciplinary contribution in exploring an inter-disciplinary challenge and asks them to work collaboratively with others to critically reflect on their own situations and produce innovative outcomes.
The Winter School is acollaboration with Köln International School of Design (KISD, Germany), the University of Central Asia (UCA, Kyrgyzstan), The Academy of Fine Arts & Design in Bratislava (AFAD, Slovakia), and Elisava Barcelona School of Design and Engineering (ELISAVA, Spain). Additionally, each year guest Schools from Europe and Asia are invited to participate.
