The Glasgow School of Art looks forward to hosting Cumulus 2027, a major international conference that will explore innovative pedagogical responses to the unprecedented challenges confronting contemporary society.

As one of the world’s leading creative institutions, we strongly believe that design and the arts can help to shape a better world for all human and non-human inhabitants.

Cumulus 2027 will set out to question the status quo within design academia, with a series of seminars, workshops and keynote conversations provoking new ideas and discussions around what it means to teach design.

The conference’s theme, Life After Limits, will challenge legacy thinking, providing a framework for the development of new approaches to generating knowledge, harnessing technologies and enhancing creative practices through design-led innovation.

We will welcome leading academics and thinkers from the design industry and beyond, who will share their visions for the future of design teaching.

Follow us for updates on the event’s agenda, keynote speakers, themes and information about how to attend Cumulus 2027.
